Application
I was inspired to create a gif by including the animated font onto a
scene from the HBO series 'Euphoria' because in the series the main
character, as shown in the gifs below, experiments with
hallucinogens while coping with her drug addiction and I wanted to
mimic that using shots of her facial expression while on hallucinogens
as I showcase the movement of the type.

REFLECTION
Experience:
My experience over this semester in Advanced typography has been both challenging and exciting. As it was my first design class in Taylor's ever since I credit transferred here, I was nervous to see how different it would be from my old university. I'm happy to say that I'm glad I chose to transfer because I have learned so much in this class alone than when I did in my old university. This class allowed me to experiment with a lot of exercises I would be too afraid to start on my own, like making my own font. Although some exercises were challenging at first because I didn't get to take the first Typography class, I felt a little lost with how things work in Taylor's. That made me anxious because I did not want to be left behind in my studies especially since I had the privilege of transferring. But thankfully the lecturers and classmates have been nothing but supportive throughout the semester. Overall, this experience has been great and I'm grateful to have had to opportunity to take this class
Observation:
I noticed that I am much more confident in starting new projects on my own now. This class has inspired me to want to improve my skill in Graphic Design. This class was a good exposure for me to get out of my own comfort zone as a designer. I also noticed that the class also allows students like me to think for myself instead of heavily relying on feedback from others which is an important practice as a designer today so I'm grateful for that.
Findings:
I found that I am now a step closer to being a professional designer in the future. Although a scary thought, it's exciting nonetheless. As I'm specializing in Graphic Design, I've found this class to be incredibly helpful in guiding and preparing me for the next classes I will take. Lastly, the most significant thing I have found was my interest in Graphic Design. I was interested before but after this semester and this class especially, being exposed to so many types of projects made me realize that Graphic Design can be fun if I make it fun and it doesn't always have to viewed as work.
