Week 6-8: There are no lecture notes this week

Week 9: A1 poster allows us to use a smaller point size for body text

Week 10:  Mr Vinod mentions that hand-holding printables with A4 widths, usually require the minimum font sizes of 8pt - 12pt

Project 1

After getting briefed on the project and researching the event I chose which was Sama Sama Riuh, I started sketching ideas on what the key artwork would look like. I was out at a restaurant when I had ideas so I did rough sketches on tissue paper.

Then, I took to refining my favourite sketches and ideas digitally and vectorising is on illustrator.

I liked the vibrant cool tones better and chose that as my final colour palette.
Afterward, I continued the project by working on the poster design playing around with layouts and composition.

Feedback:

Week 5: There was no feedback given this week

Week 6: My peers said that my key artwork relates well with the event concept and name. The use of hands coming together fit the symbolic relationship of the name and meaning of 'sama sama'. Mr Vinod also mentioned that the entangled look of the artwork is intriguing. He also advised me to carefully pay attention to the scale downed legibility of the type within the key artwork.

Week 10 : Mr, Vinod liked my animated invite, He suggested that I changed some colour for the type on the poster as well as word choice for Staff to Crew on the ID Badge collateral. He also mentioned that to try making the label tag collateral have a writable price space instead of printed for the vendors.

Reflection:

Week 5: We were briefed on our first project for Advanced typo. I was excited about this project because it included practicing a variety of skills in one projects such as logo/ keyartwork design, poster design and adapting to collateral design.

Week 6: The key artwork process was confusing at first as i didnt know how much of a logo it had to look like. Designing a key artwork which had to be adaptable was difficult but i focused on looking for a meaning behind the artwork and finally went for the 'interlocking hands' to signify 'sama- sama'

Week 7-8: These few weeks ive been working on refining the key artwork while drafting poster layouts as well playing with different compositions and colour schemes.

Week 9: Mr Vinod mention font sizes in different sized dimensions which I didnt consider at first. (eg. body text sizes 22pt above on A1 dimensions can look too big and interfere with readability when printed as compared to looking at it whole on a screen,
