FEEDBACK

Week 2:  Mr Mike said it's best to number your questions. Ans asked to change a few questions such as change 'What kind of environment do you live in?' to what kind of property (apartment, condominium, landed houses with garden, landed houses with no garden). He said our set of questions is a bit short. And asked if we are sure these are all the answers u need for your explainer videos/print materials? Also are this sufficient information for us & our Czech partners to design something accurately? Check your empathy map again for the 4 points of say, do, think & feel. Are we sure we have asked questions to cover all of these 4 points?

We then proceed to have a group meeting discussing the survey questions.

Week 3-4: Mr Mike advised us to include picture references for the "suitable sizes" question in the survey, and change the "how it can affect the planet" to "how it can affect your life/family." We finalised the survey questionnaire and prepared to publish it. Get interviewees to feel gaps in the survey. Carry on collecting participants for the survey matching the personas.

Week 5: Only managed 30% of the survey target, will push for more by next week's deadline. Once done, contact the lecturer for a summary report. With the week ending, we had a 40% increase in participants and need around 20+ people to reach our target goal. Next is to start on the Insights board ASAP. The survey is to be completed by mid-week 4 May. The themes should be worked on by the 10 May

Week 6: Continue with insights as well as figuring out the problem statement. Move on with the user journey. Figure out the categories of products we need to come up with for our brand

Week 7: Build up the user journey map as well as figure out the touch points that need to be done. Plan out which person does which part, continue with the design process

Week 9: Move on with the designs based off of our brand strategy and Continue while being considerate of the touch points/personas' needs. Continue designing and Figure out art direction to go with

Week 10: The art direction board is incomplete and needs to be added with the logo reversed, the key visual references, patterns or graphic motif if required. The website needs to follow the common process of development ie. Flowchart > Wireframe > UI Design > Prototype Design. Need to confirm the Gantt chart as soon as possible. All designs, be it print, social media or videos need visual references as the mood board.
Propose more videos to create awareness, promote the USP of your product and teach how to use and do composting. The print art direction needs to be revamped. Show mood board of selected references and discussion on Tuesday

Week 11: The retro/vintage art direction is quite difficult to blend for a modern look that fits the brand and the product. The packaging design works and looks believable but using the same style for the rest of the collaterals, has yet to be realised. The product’s function and features need to be animated to explain exactly how it works. Perhaps a wireframe render in Blender will work?
Figure out a way to make the videos appealing, Find out if we can all come to an agreement on the art direction and See if we can get a render of our composter.

Week 12: The posters need more humans in it to connect with the personas. Also, consider using food-related shots as this is about food waste. Pick more relevant photos that connect well with your personas. The video is fine to show what the product is about. But more videos need to be created to speak to each persona about their goals and frustrations.
Show improved posters with the changes as mentioned and Show video mood boards of the videos.

Week 13: The posters are looking fine. Have improved a lot with the precise use of great photos. The IG is also getting there. However, there are the graphic shapes of the arch window and the squares. should these graphics be maintained? If yes, then they should be everywhere.
The video clips mood board is fine. So, produce a few rough cuts with them and review them. The aim here is not to add anything to the edit except the video clips. It is to review if the narratives are clear with just the rough cuts. Show it the next time we meet.

Week 14: Work on the presentation slides and finalise everything needed.

Week 15: The final slides are taking shape and the layout is practical and aesthetically pleasing.
The flow of the slides, in terms of the structure, is appropriate and in sync with the project’s aim. Need to finish up all the other missing areas.
Finalised slides and Brush up all the visuals

REFLECTION

Week 1: We were introduced to the module information and the module outcome in the first week. Because it is a group project, we were asked to fill in our names in the respective google sheets. Later, we would be grouped into separate groups and work on our projects together on our miro board.

Week 2: This week we worked on our survey questionnaire, we discussed the questions we’d like to include in our google survey and picked 20-22 questions best suited for our further research.

Week 3: Mr Mike said it's best to number your questions. We were asked to recheck your empathy map for the 4 points of say, do, think & feel. We then proceed to have a group meeting to further discuss the survey questions after receiving feedback from Mr Mike.

Week 4: Mr Mike advised us to include picture references for the "suitable sizes" question in the survey, and change the "how it can affect the planet" to "how it can affect your life/family." We finalised the survey questionnaire and prepared to publish it. We also carried on collecting participants for the survey matching the personas.

Week 5: Since it’s week 5, we had to stop our data collecting from our survey and start analysing the responses. We assigned a number of questions to be split and analysed equally among the group members.

Week 6: We got to analyse the data from the survey questionnaire and it was interesting to read everyone’s opinion and ideas on the topic. Most of the responses were helpful in our research.  We took the information we gathered from the survey to gain a better idea of who our target consumers are.

Week 7: This week we continued with our progress in better understanding our target consumers and how our product can benefit them. Doing the user journey maps made it easier for us to understand our consumer's points of view so that's how we went forward with the ideas.

Week 8: This week was independent learning week so we had time off from other classes but we still had a consultation meeting with Mr Mike. He went through our customer journey map and told us what needs fixing and what we should go over again to improve.

Week 9: We got to start the graphic design part of the assignment where we first shared our ideas on a mood board and chose what fits best for a design direction. We then gathered a few photo references to collect and showcase the meeting so that Mr mike could have a better idea of our art direction.

Week 10: This week we showed Mr Mike any sketches or ideas we had. Mr Mike said that the art direction did not look cohesive enough and it was still looking a bit messy. So we had to clean it up and decide on a more consistent art direction to move forward with our design work

Week 11: We showcased our design ideas and works this week to Mr mike and I'm glad he mentioned that my packaging design works with the design direction for a composter. Next, I will work on the instruction manual that comes with the packaging which includes an illustration of the composter. I gathered a few references and added them to the mood board to have a better focus on the illustration direction.

Week 12: Mr Mike says the instruction manual for the packaging is fine and liked the posters that included real photographs of food and humans. He said to focus more on real-life photographs of humans and food and less on graphics so we collected several photographs to use that could relate to the product/lifestyle.

Week 13: Mr Mike liked how our progress is coming together now that we tweaked the design direction of our brand to a more consistent look and feel

Week 14: We seem to be ahead of time at this stage which is relieving. I’ve finished most of my part so I worked on the presentation deck and slides this week and compiled my work onto the presentation slides.

Week 15: Our slides so far have gotten good feedback. All we need to do is finalise the work we’ve done and information from our miro board onto the slides so that we can prepare to present our project next week.
