Interactive Design Final Project

LECTURE

Week 10: The lecturer briefed us on our final project and gave us the freedom to create any topic of the website of our choice as long as it contained 5 pages. After deciding, we had a presentation on our idea proposal alongside our wireframes and sitemap, so that the lecturers could get a better understanding of our work in the future.

Week 11-14: No lecture, just tutorials

FEEDBACK

Week 10: The lecturers thought my proposal slides were easy to understand. They understood that I wanted to go for a minimal look for my website.

Week 11-14: No feedback

REFLECTION

Week 10: I was excited to create and design a website just for myself. Because I knew myself the most, it wasn't difficult deciding on the aesthetics of the website layout design.

Week 11-12: Learning from my mistakes from my previous project, I managed to code with more ease than before. I still had to look up solutions to many issues but I've learned to spot the problem I'm facing quicker than before. I also decided to change the body text font mentioned in my proposal from Roboto to Montserrat.

Week 13: I bumped into an issue where I did not know how to link multiple pages into a single website but I sought help from my peers and they generously provided links to tutorials they also followed.

Week 14: This semester has been tough on me mainly because of this class. I've realized that coding and web development are not in my interest at all. It was hard and confusing to learn a completely new language and skill. Nonetheless, It was interesting to see how the progress of coding and web development worked and I'm grateful to have learned the basics for the future. I think it's also safe to say I'm not exactly thrilled by the idea that I may have to sit through this again in Advanced Interactive Design, but I'm always up for new challenges.
