Lecture Notes:
Week 7: The lecturer taught us a different, more in-depth technique to recoloring a black and white picture using photoshop and adjustment layers.
Week 8-9: Mr Fauzi briefed us on project 2B and showed us examples of other work for reference so we had an idea of how to approach this project.

Project 2A : DIGITAL IMAGING EXERCISES
Week 4&5 PRACTICAL: PROJECT 2A: EXERCISE 1 (PHOTO MANIPULATION)
For this assignment, we had to photoshop Shazam, the superhero into the Hearst Mansion using our knowledge on adjustments and masking.
After that, we had to photoshop ourselves into the same background.
For my picture, I chose a picture from my trip to Korea in 2018 at the Optical Illusions museum. (that's my sister and me). I thought this pose was fitting for the background of Hearst mansion as I could create a visual relationship with the water.

For this exercise, I studied more on the colour zones of the human face to understand more on where to place the warm and cool tones back into the picture. Here is my reference photo:

Feedback:
Week 5-8: No feedback was given this week
Week 8-9: Mr. Fauzi liked my poster composition and the adjustments done to it. However he stated that the typeface choice did not suit the feeling of the poster and suggested i change it to something more sharp and angular.
Reflection:
WEEK4&5: These two weeks we were briefed on how to photoshop an image into another image to create a seamless merge. I've never had to do this before so this was exciting to learn. The process of tweaking the adjustments took a while but as I practice more I might train my eyes to be faster at seeing what fits best.
WEEK 6&7: Recolouring a black and white photo of a human portrait made me understand how to work with the photoshop layers and colour mapping of a portrait. This also helped me a lot in colour matching when painting human faces!
